Professional communication at the doorstep
A delivery interaction is often short, but it can shape how someone remembers the service. A calm tone, a clear explanation and a realistic next step matter more than having an answer to every question.

Start with the question being asked
Listen before assuming what a customer needs. A person asking about a package may be looking for the current delivery, a different shipment or an explanation of an earlier event. Clarifying the question prevents an answer that solves the wrong problem.
Keep the conversation professional and focused on the work. There is no need to speculate about another driver, the contents of a package or an internal decision. If you do not know, say so and offer the appropriate next step.
Separate helpfulness from promises
A driver may want to reassure a customer, but promising a delivery time, refund or additional attempt without authority creates a new expectation. Explain only what you can confirm from the assignment and the approved information available.
For shipment status or claims, direct the customer to the carrier’s tracking or support channel. For feedback about a Sigma interaction, the Contact page provides a starting point. Connecting someone to the right source is a useful form of service.
Keep a concern factual
If a customer reports a problem, acknowledge it without arguing about an event you did not observe. Follow the reporting process for your role and share the details the team needs to understand the concern.
Do not include unnecessary personal information in informal messages. Use the approved tools and keep your description specific. Clear documentation lets the appropriate people review the issue without turning a brief conversation into an unsupported conclusion.
Recognize when the interaction should stop
A conversation should not require entering an unauthorized space or remaining in a threatening situation. Follow your training and contact the appropriate support when conditions prevent a normal delivery interaction.
For everyday questions, a respectful closing can be simple: explain what you can do, identify the next channel and continue according to the assignment. Professionalism includes knowing the limits of your role as well as performing it with care.
Keep delivery information secure
Professional service includes protecting the information that accompanies a delivery. Use the assigned tools to confirm the recipient or receiving location, and follow the applicable handoff instructions. Share package and customer details only through the approved channels needed to complete the work.
When a delivery question remains unresolved, make the record useful for the next person. Describe the customer’s concern and the action taken without adding speculation or unnecessary personal details. Accurate information supports both customer care and follow-through.
